Today, I took up one of the ideas for a “first” that C. had given me. I’m sure that’ll make him happy as I think I sometimes have too strong a mind of my own and aren’t too good at taking other people’s suggestions on board.
I realize that my “firsts” have been getting less planned recently. I’ve taken to looking at my day and seeing what might be a first rather than just thinking of crazy new things to try. If I’m going to keep this up for a year, this is the way forward, I think.
Today’s “first” might seem a bit pathetic to you if you don’t know me, but those who do know me should appreciate it.
My niece picked a really cool hobby: she’s passionate about ice hockey, both as a spectator and as an active player. I really admire kids who choose unusual hobbies rather than doing what everyone else does.
I’m not one to try every trend and usually don’t even know what is currently fashionable. In fact, I was surprised this morning to hear that it was the Oscars last night.
We spent more time walking and enjoying the mild weather today – although it wasn’t quite as nice as yesterday.
Today was the most beautiful early spring day. We get these sometimes in Munich. This may have been the actual onset of spring or it may have been just a little bit of sunshine to tide us over another one or two months of snow and ice. One way or another, I wrapped F. up and spent pretty much the entire day outside.
It’s weird, for a while I was really struggling to find “firsts” for my challenge but lately they’ve just been presenting themselves.
