Day 150 – I just can’t get enough

Every year, I enjoy asparagus season even more than the year before. This year, I’ve been trying to mix that in with the challenge and try new ways of preparing asparagus.

Thus, today I served a warm asparagus salad as as a starter. Super simple, super yummy. All I did was chop cherry tomatoes, add some basil, fried pieces of green asparagus and a vinaigrette with tiny bits of bell pepper. Some coarse sea salt and Parmesan cheese to top it off and – bam! – you’ve got an easy yet impressive starter.

The contrast of the colours (I used different tomatoes in different colours but even all red would have looked great with the deep green of the asparagus), the variety of flavours and the simple fact that it’s a warm salad just make this lovely. I definitely would recommend you to try it of you are an asparagus lover like me…
