Day 197 – how did we get by without this?

I’m becoming such a stereotypical mum! A few days ago, I read about a new product in the parenting magazine I’ve subscribed to. It sounded amazing, so I went straight online and bought it. Well, I have to say I’m glad I did because it’s one of the best baby-related products I’ve ever seen. It’s going to make our lives so much easier!

It’s the Mobiseat or Totseat: a mobile baby seat made from fabric. It can be attached to virtually any chair and safely ensures your baby or toddler can sit at the table with you even when there is no high chair available. It’s so versatile thanks to various buttons, adjustable straps and a cummerbund to provide further back support or strap the child in more tightly. The Mobiseat is really easy to set up, looks really comfy (and stylish too, for that matter) and is small enough to always carry around. Although parents always carry half their household with them anyway, so actually even a wodden highchair wouldn’t make too much of a difference. Seriously though, look how small it is when folded into its little pouch:

F. clearly enjoyed sitting in it when we tested it for the first time today. I can’t wait to use it out and about! It’s going to be lovely having him at the table with is rather than tucked away in the pram. According to the instructions, it’s absolutely essential to make sure the child isn’t close enough to anything they could push against and topple over backwards though. So obviously – like any baby product – it has to be used with care…

The patterns it comes in are all lovely, too. We would have happily bought any of them (a really cute Paddington bear was a close second favourite after the pattern we picked in the end). And the best thing? It only costs around 30€! When I first read about it in that magazine, I was expecting to pay a lot more. This is one of these products that someone would have to invent if they didn’t exist already!
