Starlight Blogger Award

I’m very honoured to have been nominated for the STARLIGHT Blogger Award by Christy of Happy Family Blog. I’m still fairly new to blogging and the community of bloggers out there, so this first nomination ever came as a total surprise. Thank you so much!

First of all, here are the rules for the Award:

Nominations Rules:
Nominate your 6 favorite bloggers! In your nominees I would like for you to think at the light emanating from the stars the ones that truly touch your soul with their work, the ones that are the light for you a true STARLIGHT Blogger.

Rules for the STARLIGHT Blogger Award:
Thank the giver and link their Blog to your post.
Answer the 3 questions given to you.
Please Pass the award on to 6 or more other Bloggers of your choice and let them know that they have been nominated by you.
Include the logo of the award in a post or on your Blog please never alter the logo and never change the rules.

I’ve been thinking long and hard about this. There are so many inspiring and fun blogs out there, but here are my favourite six:

1. Reaching Meadow Lane – because it’s simply incredible with what strength you are sharing your story.

2. asexblogofonesown – because yours is the wittiest blog I’ve ever read.

3. Fish of Gold – because you’re a word nerd like me (the title of your blog alone is worthy of an award in my humble opinion) and because your posts touch me so much.

4. The Crafty Mummy Blog – because I admire your creativity and talent.

5. Atlas & Arugula – because I love reading about your adventures in my beautiful hometown.

6. Full of Daisies – because I enjoy your recipes and your photographs so very, very much.

That takes to part two – the questions Christy asked her nominees and my answers:

Why did you decide to start a blog?

I’ve always loved to write and thought it would be fun to regularly share some of my thoughts with others. I just never quite knew how to get started or what to blog about. When I came up with the idea for my New Thing Challenge for 2015, I knew I had to blog about it to keep me going. If it wasn’t for the blog, I would have given up on the challenge long ago. Now I’ve gotten so used to blogging I’ll be continuing the blog with a Happiness Diary once my challenge is over.

If you could do one thing over this week, what would it be?

I would bite my tounge rather than vent my anger at C. last night. I’ve been so stressed by him working almost every day and me being alone with F. from getting up until bedtime that I got really unfair and said some pretty hurtful things. Love is about making each other’s lives easier, not using each other as punching bags. Just two days left until C. goes on parental leave though, that’s going to give us a lot of much needed time together. I can’t wait!

Who or what inspires your creativity?

Sadness inspires my creativity in that I write my best poems when I’m feeling depressed.
Travel inspires my creativity in that I take my best photographs when I’m travelling.
F. inspires my creativity in that I make things for him to play with and come up with ever new silly songs for him.
Last but most certainly not least, C. inspires my creativity in that he’s the metaphorical wind beneath my wings who is constantly praising my work and ensuring I don’t stop writing.

Well, my dear nominees, that only leaves us with the final part: if you’d like to accept the nomination and take part in this, it’s now up to you to nominate your favourite bloggers. And then answer me this:

What was the best decision you ever made?

What was the worst decision you ever made?

What have you ever experienced that should be on everybody’s Bucket List?

Yes, that last question is not entirely unselfish: I’m secretly hoping for a little inspiration for the remaining five months of my challenge.
