Today has been absolutely amazing!
I’ve got a week left of maternity leave so I’m trying to make the most of it, treating it like a holiday.
I decided last night to set my alarm for the morning so that instead of having another lie-in (F. has gotten into the holiday mode now and has been letting us sleep until half nine some mornings!), I could get out and enjoy the day. Continue reading

Today’s “first” was two-fold: I went to a swimming bath I’d never been to before and I put armbands on F. and took him swimming in and pool for the first time ever. Continue reading
My orchids have been making me a bit sad as they’re just growing leaf upon leaf, but not forming any new blossoms. So I thought I’d get them some new energy in the form of bigger pots and fresh substrate. This decision resulted in a wonderful flowery “first”.

On April 30 this year, Munich’s National Socialism Documentation Centre was opened. As Munich is renowned for having been the “Capital of the Movement”, it was about time for it to establish such a place. We visited it today for the first time. My expectations were high…
It’s incredible, I’ve lived in Munich for so long now, but there are still many places I’ve never been to before. I went to one of them today:
