As we travelled back home today, I was a bit limited as regards opportunities for “firsts”. Nonetheless, I managed to do one and a half new things. And that’s not even counting the first time I got on the plane in Crete in cooler weather than it was when I got off in Munich!
Yesterday was a beautiful day. F. had a four-hour (!) nap and I managed to read 100 pages on the beach before I headed back to play with him. When he woke up, he was in a fantastic mood and we had a lovely time with him. Continue reading
Today’s “firsts” aren’t particularly exciting, once again, but they made for a lovely day. Continue reading
As I said, we’re on holiday now. Like so many times before, we’ve come to Crete. I love this place with all my heart and while I enjoy travelling to new places, I also couldn’t live without coming back here every so often. This year is super special, of course, as it’s the first time I’ve brought F. to this gorgeous island that is like a second home to me.

This blog is all about new things I’m experiencing this year. Many of them are related to having a baby, but I’ve not yet actually acknowledged that the sheer fact of being a mum is the biggest “first” I’ve ever experienced. I’m becoming such a stereotypical mum! A few days ago, I read about a new product in the parenting magazine I’ve subscribed to. It sounded amazing, so I went straight online and bought it. Well, I have to say I’m glad I did because it’s one of the best baby-related products I’ve ever seen. It’s going to make our lives so much easier!
It’s been so hot the last few days (we almost hit 40° C yesterday!) that I thought I’d do F. the favour of reducing the huge amounts of fluffy hair on his head. Continue reading
The day had ready half passed when I suddenly realized I hadn’t yet planned a “first”. So I kept my eyes open for new things when I was shopping for nappies and babyfood (yep, I’m a mum – the drugstore is one of the sites of adventure in my life at the moment ;-)).
