I can’t work all the time, so I took the opportunity for a bit of time off at my work’s Oktoberfest do today.
Yesterday’s “first” was truly amazing: we went for a walk on Tempelhofer Feld, the site of Berlin’s former airport.
We spent a wonderful day in Berlin, full of new things – the zoo, Gedächtniskirche, a lovely dinner at Café am See.
We’ve just come back from a wonderful weekend at a friend’s wedding.

The football pitch photo I entered into Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge last week got chosen as a featured entry. Yay!
For this week’s challenge, I’m going for a completely different theme with this picture I took yesterday: Hare Krishnas dancing in the background and a hen party – with the bride-to-be in the sunlight as if under a spotlight – in the foreground. I loved the contrast of the two (highlighted by the blue sky above and long shadows below)
, which beautifully captured the buzz in Munich’s city centre on a summer’s afternoon…

It’s strange, it was just a deserted football by a worn pitch, but something about it touched me.

My orchids have been making me a bit sad as they’re just growing leaf upon leaf, but not forming any new blossoms. So I thought I’d get them some new energy in the form of bigger pots and fresh substrate. This decision resulted in a wonderful flowery “first”.
